A little over a week ago I announced changes to my company's brand. Going in a new direction was frightening. Fear of the unknown, what customers might I lose, if I could reach my audience as I had in the past or simply, could I do this. Along with all the scary thoughts, came positive motivation. I thought, "This is a chance for me to dig deeper, expand my reach and give more value to the world in an area most are afraid to discuss."
Change, lost or transition is often met with negative thoughts and emotions. however, a shift in perspective could give you the comfort and guidance you need to accept the situation and appreciate the journey.
No one wants to lose their car, home, job or God forbid, a loved one, but it is in these moments some of us find our greatest strength.
My mother was killed in a tragic car accident in 2001. Twenty minutes after hanging up the phone with me on her way to pick me up, just like that, she was gone. If you had told me even five minutes before that eerie phone call I would have been singing and praising God for her life during her home going (funeral), I would've called you a liar. In the days leading up to our celebration of her life, I found an undeniable strength and peace that allowed me to accept Gods will for not only her life, but mine as well.
It is through these events that we, at first, may believe to be a tragedy, some of the world's best work, art, products and services have been born. By our efforts of courage, both your life and theirs can be celebrated.
Your memories can live on in more than one of my extraordinary custom gifts. They may also live on in the gift of service you provide to others in you loved ones honor. Perhaps memory lane will be the road that leads to more fulfillments in your life.
What are some ways you've dealt with lost or change? Have you created beauty from ashes?
